Required settings
1. Installing League of Legends and setting a directory
To play the replay file, the LoL client must be installed, and the directory must be set. Check here for a detailed guide.
2. Checking patch version
If the patch version of your current client is different from the patch version of the recorded game, the replay may not work properly.
3. Installing OP.GG for Desktop
The replay is run through the OP.GG Desktop app.
Please install the OP.GG Desktop app before playing the replay. (Download OP.GG for Desktop)
Recording a replay
- Go to the live game tab of the summoner whose game you want to record.
- Click the record button located at the top right to start recording the replay.
- Once the game ends, the recording will be completed in about 5 minutes.
- Replays can only be recorded while the game is in progress.
- If you click record button 4 minutes after the game has started, the recording will begin from the moment you clicked, and early game data may be missing.
Playing a replay

Once the recording is complete, a video icon will appear in the match history.
- Click the video icon to run OP.GG for Desktop on each OS or display a terminal message.

Windows
When you click the video icon, a pop-up will appear prompting you to launch the OP.GG app. Click [Open OP.GG] to play the replay within the OP.GG app.

Run [Terminal], copy and paste the displayed message into the terminal to automatically launch the LoL client.

FAQs
Q. Can I watch replays on mobile devices?
Replays require the LoL client to be installed. Therefore, replays or spectating cannot be done on mobile devices.
Q. The game didn’t record until the end.
If you click record button 4 minutes after the game has started, the recording will begin from the moment you clicked, and early game data may be missing.
Q. Can I record replays of games that ended?
Replays can only be recorded while the game is in progress. You can’t record games that have already ended.
Q. Why isn’t my replay recording?
Recording may not be available when the Riot API is unstable, and matches that failed to record cannot be re-recorded.
